CEO and Founder, Next Narrative Africa Fund

Akunna Cook is bridging the worlds of high-level diplomacy, economic policy, and entertainment as CEO and Founder of the Next Narrative Africa Fund (NNAF). NNAF is a $50M blended finance vehicle designed to capitalize the global Black narrative and build the financial infrastructure for the next century of African storytelling.

Khadija Alami

Khadija Alami is an award-winning Moroccan producer of feature films, documentaries, and short films, and the owner of K Films, one of the region’s most well-respected production service and co-production partners. She is also President of Meditalents, which teaches the art of scriptwriting to young writers; President of the Ouarzazate Film Commission; and President of the Producers Chamber in Morocco. She is also a member of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences.

Georgia Arnold

Georgia Arnold is a media and social impact leader with 30 years’ experience using entertainment for behavior change and public health outcomes. Formerly Senior Vice President of Social Responsibility at Paramount Global, she founded the MTV Staying Alive Foundation and created the multi-award-winning MTV Shuga franchise.

Effie T. Brown

Effie T. Brown is an award-winning producer and CEO of Gamechanger Films, a production company dedicated to groundbreaking narratives that disrupt the status quo and advance the cultural conversation.. A Governor of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, she has produced critically acclaimed features for Sundance, Netflix, A24, HBO, and Disney, and is a leading advocate for inclusive storytelling.

Nitin Gajria

Nitin Gajria is a co-founder of A54, an Africa-focused early-stage investment network focused on African technology ventures, and an active angel investor. Before his current role with Google, he was Managing Director for the company in Sub-Saharan Africa.



Darcy Heusel

Darcy Heusel is a senior film executive and cultural strategist with 15 years’ experience in independent film acquisition and distribution. Formerly a creative and acquisitions executive at NEON, she led award-winning campaigns for Oscar®- and Palme d’Or–winning films and champions underrepresented voices through innovative release models.

Tom Lynch

Tom Lynch is an Emmy-winning writer, director, and producer with more than 30 television series and 800+ episodes created across kids, YA, and family programming. As Principal CEO of independent production company Tom Lynch Co., he has shaped globally successful franchises for Nickelodeon, Cartoon Network, and Netflix, and is widely credited with defining the “tween” television genre.

Ozi Menakaya

Ozi Menakaya is a former CAA literary film and television agent and founder of CAA Africa, the first Africa-focused initiative at a major Hollywood agency. He now leads Continental Entertainment, a management and production company advancing African storytelling and international co-financing partnerships.

Bianca Nepales

Bianca Nepales is a senior entertainment executive and creative technologist with 15 years’ experience across DEI, strategic operations, and talent development. Formerly Vice President of DEI at Lionsgate, she currently serves as Special Advisor of Industries and Impact at the UCLA School of Theater, Film and Television.

Tommy Oliver

Tommy Oliver is an Emmy- and Sundance-winning filmmaker and Founder & CEO of Confluential Films and the Black Love media brand. His producing and directing credits span scripted and documentary projects for Netflix, HBO, Apple TV+, and Sony, with multiple audience and jury awards.

Tunde Onitiri

Tunde Onitiri is a global investment and project finance executive with senior leadership experience at the IFC and advisory roles across climate, infrastructure, and emerging markets. He has structured over $500 million in investments globally and serves on multiple international investment and education boards.

Talitha Watkins

Talitha Watkins is Co-Founder and President of ColorCreative Management & Productions, a management and production company founded to champion inclusive storytelling. Formerly a motion picture agent at CAA and Vice President of Multicultural Marketing at Universal Pictures, she represents leading creatives across film and television.

Victor Williams

Victor Williams is the Founder and Managing Partner of Lions Range Group, a firm that invests in compelling sports, technology, and creative economy opportunities globally with a particular focus on Africa. Previously he was Executive Vice President of the National Basketball Association (NBA), and CEO of NBA Africa. He has held senior executive positions at Standard Bank Group, Wells Fargo Securities, and Goldman Sachs.

Sahar Yousefi

Sahar Yousefi is a private equity film financing executive and producer specializing in fund strategy and equity investment. She has worked on many award-winning films selected for prestigious international festivals. As a financing executive, Sahar was an Advisor to Qatar Film Committee, where she led equity financing assessments for films and media companies. Prior to that, she was also Head of Investments and Production at the technical partner of the Riviera Content Fund.
